DanceDanceRevolution II, known in Europe as DanceDanceRevolution Hottest Party 5, is the fifth and final game in the series of DanceDanceRevolution games for the Nintendo Wii. It was released on October 11, 2011 for North America, and November 16, 2011 for Europe.

DevelopmentEdit

DanceDanceRevolution II was revealed during early 2011. Early screenshots of the game showed some new features, including the debut of the Double playing style. Also new to this game are the characters, which are taken straight from DanceDanceRevolution X2. It was shown on Electronic Entertainment Expo 2011 (E3 2011), showcasing new songs, which include pop music from the recent years and the last century, new songs that would later be in DanceDanceRevolution X3 VS 2ndMIX (which also held a location test at about the same time), and songs from DDR X2.

More screenshots were later released a month before the game's release, showcasing the DDR X2 characters in different colors, as well as the return of the Challenge difficulty.

New FeaturesEdit

  • Double Play mode. DDR II is the first Wii DDR game to have Doubles mode. It still has the Sync and Friendship modes from the previous games.
  • Replicant D-action
  • Characters from DanceDanceRevolution X2.
  • Challenge difficulty. DDR II is the first DDR Wii game to have the Challenge difficulty.

ChangesEdit

  • The background videos are no longer displayed fullscreen. Instead, if playing on Single player, the video is displayed to the right. On multiplayer modes and Double mode, the video is displayed in the center.
  • The difficulty scale is now on a 1-20 scale as opposed to the 1-10 scale on the other DDR Wii games.
